What is CoverBop?
CoverBop is an AI playlist cover maker built for Spotify, Apple Music, YouTube Music, and custom playlists. It helps you turn music context like genre, artist references, mood, activity, time of day, colors, and theme direction into square cover art without needing full design software. You can generate different versions, refine the direction, choose how your cover credit appears, and export a final PNG or JPEG when the artwork feels right. If you sign in, you can also keep saved versions in Cover Library and come back to them later.
Can I use CoverBop for Spotify playlist covers?
Yes. Click Create cover, enter your playlist title and music direction, generate a cover, then export the square PNG or JPEG you like best. After that, upload the file as your playlist image in Spotify. CoverBop is designed around square artwork, so the exported file is already in the right shape for playlist cover use.
Do I need design skills to use CoverBop?
No. CoverBop is built so you can art-direct the result in plain language instead of building everything manually in professional design software. You can start with artists, genre, mood, colors, theme presets, activity, and time of day, then regenerate until one version feels right.
Can I make playlist covers for Apple Music or YouTube Music too?
Yes. You can build the cover the same way you would for Spotify, then export the square version you want. If Apple Music, YouTube Music, or another platform supports custom square playlist art in your workflow, you can upload the exported image there. CoverBop is designed around square cover art, so the format already fits that kind of use.
Can I download my playlist cover as PNG or JPEG?
Yes. CoverBop supports both PNG and JPEG downloads. PNG is useful when you want cleaner detail and text, and JPEG is useful when you want a lighter file. On desktop, clicking download saves the file directly. On mobile, CoverBop first asks whether you want to save to your phone files or open your phone's photo-library save options, so you can choose the path that fits your device.
Can I start from a template and still customize it?
Yes. You can start from an example cover right from the homepage examples. Click an example, choose to use it as your template, and CoverBop loads that title and style direction into the builder. From there, you can change the title, genre, colors, theme preset, and other settings before generating fresh art.
Can I save different cover versions?
Yes. CoverBop keeps recent versions so you can compare different directions while you work. Signed-in users can also keep saved covers in Cover Library, which makes it easier to come back later without losing the version you liked.
How do free credits work?
CoverBop starts with starter credits, then unlocks more free credits as you complete key profile and usage steps. This section updates from your current status so you can see what is already collected, what is ready now, and what still needs one more step.

Does regenerating use another credit?
Yes. Each newly generated image uses one ready credit. Before you regenerate, CoverBop shows a credit check so you can see whether the next image will use 1 free credit or 1 paid credit and what you will have left after that.
Do I need a subscription to buy more credits?
No. CoverBop sells credits as one-time purchases, so you only buy more when you need them. There is no recurring subscription for credits at this time.
Do I need an account before buying credits?
Yes. You need to create or sign in to a CoverBop profile before buying credits so the purchase can be attached to your account. That makes sure your credits stay connected to you and are still there when you come back.
Will I lose my current cover if I regenerate?
Not necessarily. If you are signed in, CoverBop can keep the current version in your Cover Library before using another credit. If you are not signed in, it is smart to download the current image first if you want to keep it before regenerating.
Can I choose how different a regenerated cover should be?
Yes. When you regenerate from your current cover, CoverBop can ask how big the change should be, so you can stay closer to the current direction or push farther away. That makes it easier to refine in smaller steps instead of starting over every time.
Can I put my name or handle on the cover?
Yes. If you have a CoverBop profile, you can choose no credit, your profile name, your handle, or both on the cover. That gives you a simple way to add your identity to the artwork without having to place text manually.
What happens when my free credits run out?
When your free credits run out, you can still keep your saved covers, downloads, and account progress, but you will need paid credits to generate new images. CoverBop sells those as one-time purchases rather than a subscription.
Can I use promo codes with CoverBop?
Yes. CoverBop supports promo codes on eligible credit packs, and some promo codes can also add extra free credits. If a code is valid for the pack you choose, the discount or bonus is applied during checkout.
Can I get a refund for credit purchases?
Credit purchases are generally non-refundable once credits have been delivered and used. CoverBop may still review refund requests for duplicate charges, unauthorized purchases, or clear billing or technical problems.
